1 / 2Desert Sand Rose
from £2A natural "sand rose": gypsum crystals that grew in the desert sand into the shape of a rose. Every one is different.

Sand roses form in deserts such as the Sahara, when water rich in gypsum (selenite) evaporates and the crystals grow in flat petals around grains of sand. The sand trapped inside gives them their soft beige colour.
They are linked with selenite, so many people use them for calm and to clear a space. Keep them dry: water slowly dissolves gypsum. We pick yours by hand, so the shape will differ from the photo.
Crystal meanings describe tradition and belief, not medical advice. Dust gently with a soft dry cloth, and keep coloured stones out of strong direct sunlight, which can fade some of them over time.
Rock Family members at Silver and above can have their crystals cleansed under the full moon in our shops, free. Next full moon: Mon 26 Oct.
