What rose quartz is said to do
Where the name comes from
Its name is simple: rose for the colour, quartz for the mineral. Popular crystal lore links pink stones with Aphrodite and the old stories of love, which is how rose quartz became the classic love stone.
Today it’s the stone people pick for themselves after a hard week, give to a friend, or keep beside a photo of someone they love.
Traditionally said to help with
LoveThe best-known rose quartz tradition: a stone for opening up to love, whether you are looking for it or looking after it.
Self-kindnessMany people keep it close as a reminder to go gently on themselves on a hard day.
FriendshipA classic gift between friends and family, traditionally said to strengthen the bonds between people.
CalmIts soft pink is linked with a gentler, calmer mood, so it often sits by the bed or on a desk.
