Banded Agate
Layered stripes and rings in earthy shades such as brown, grey, cream, white and rust. Each piece shows its own pattern of bands, with a smooth, glassy shine.
About banded agate
Banded agate is a form of chalcedony, a fine grained quartz. Its bands form as layers of silica build up slowly inside cavities in volcanic rock. Agate takes its name from the Achates river in Sicily.
Crystal tradition calls banded agate a grounding, steadying stone. It is said to bring balance, patience and a sense of security, and its layered bands are often linked with building strength step by step.

Banded agate makes a good everyday pocket or worry stone. Many people keep one on a desk, by the front door, or in a grid as a steady base stone.
Care
A hard, durable stone. Clean with water and a soft cloth, and store apart from softer stones.
