Named for a forest

Charnwood Forest lies just outside Leicester, a short drive from our shop. In 1957 a schoolboy climbing in a quarry there found the first accepted fossil of complex life from the Precambrian: a fern-like creature called Charnia, preserved in rock around 560 million years old. We named this light for it, because every slab in CHARNWOOD carries its own record of deep time: the veils, clouds and fine fractures that formed as the crystal grew.
Madagascan clear quartz
Each slab is cut from natural quartz and polished by hand. We keep the veils and clouds that glass could never have. That is what the light catches.
Crated and insured, delivered to your door. Installation by a qualified electrician is recommended; we can recommend one near you.
Dust with a soft dry brush. Quartz does not fade or tarnish.
