Kyanite
Beads in mixed blues, from denim to deep navy, with grey and brown patches. Many show fine streaks running through them and a soft, pearly shimmer when turned in the light.
About kyanite
Kyanite is an aluminium silicate mineral named from the Greek kyanos, meaning blue. It is unusual because its hardness changes with direction: around 4.5 to 5 along the length of a crystal and 6.5 to 7 across it.
In crystal tradition, kyanite is said to help with honest, clear communication. It is traditionally linked with calm and balance, and is often believed to be a stone that does not hold on to negative energy.
How people use it
Its mix of blues suits denim and everyday wear. Stack it with sodalite, lapis or silver for a cool blue look. Tradition suggests the left wrist to receive or the right to give out energy.
Care
Kyanite can split along its grain if knocked, so treat it gently. Roll it on rather than stretching it, and take it off before swimming, showering or exercise.
Crystal meanings describe tradition and belief, not medical advice.
