Dark Amethyst
Raw, natural chunks of amethyst in a rich, deep purple. Each piece has rough broken faces and uneven edges, with a glassy lustre where the crystal shows through.
About dark amethyst
These are rough, unpolished pieces of amethyst, the purple variety of quartz, left in their natural broken state. The deep colour comes from iron in the crystal altered by natural radiation. The name comes from the Greek amethystos, meaning not intoxicated.
Deep coloured amethyst is traditionally prized in crystal circles and is said to carry the stone's calming energy most strongly. It is linked with peace, intuition and restful sleep, and is often chosen as a protective stone.

Pop a rough chunk in a pocket or pouch, place one on the bedside table, or add a few to a crystal grid or plant pot. They also make an easy, natural looking gift.
Care
Keep out of strong sunlight, as the purple can fade. Rinse with water and dry well. Rough edges can be sharp, so handle with care and store apart from softer stones.
