Meaning
What smoky quartz is said to do
Where the name comes from
Its smoky colour comes from natural radiation in the surrounding rock. In Scotland it is called Cairngorm, after the mountains where it was once found, and it is Scotland’s national gem, set in kilt pins and brooches.
Its earthy colour has made it the classic grounding stone, kept for steadiness and letting go.
Crystal meanings describe tradition and belief, not medical advice.
