Basil
Dried basil leaves in deep green, with a warm, sweet herby scent.
About basil
The name basil comes from the Greek basilikon, royal. In Italian folklore a pot of basil on a balcony was a sign of love, and a related plant, holy basil or tulsi, is sacred in India.
In folk magic basil is a herb of money and love: a leaf in your wallet is said to draw money, and basil is used to bring harmony between partners.
In a potion
Add it to money, luck and love potions, or keep a leaf in your purse.
Safety
For rituals and display only, not for eating or drinking. Keep away from children and pets, and store dry, out of direct sunlight.
Herb meanings describe folk tradition and belief, not medical advice.
