Peacock Ore
Metallic stone flashing with vivid purple, blue, green and gold, like a peacock's tail. The colours shimmer and change as you turn it under the light.
About peacock ore
Peacock ore is a copper iron sulfide, usually chalcopyrite, sometimes sold as bornite. Most pieces have been acid treated to bring out the strong iridescent colours. The colours sit in a thin tarnish layer on the surface.
In crystal tradition peacock ore is linked with joy, happiness and a positive outlook. It is said to bring a bright, uplifting energy and is often called a stone of happiness.
How people use it
A colourful display piece for a shelf or windowsill. Children love it, and many people keep one on a desk or in a collection as a cheerful accent.
Care
Keep dry, as water and handling can dull the colours over time. Avoid salt, soaking and cleaners. Dust gently and store on its own.
Crystal meanings describe tradition and belief, not medical advice.
