Rainbow Fluorite
Polished stones with bands of purple, green, blue and clear, sometimes with touches of yellow. The colours sit in stripes or zones and glow when held to the light.
About rainbow fluorite
Fluorite is calcium fluoride. Rainbow fluorite shows several colours in one stone, laid down in bands as the crystal grew. The name comes from the Latin fluere, to flow, as it was used to help metals melt in smelting. The word fluorescence was named after it.
In crystal tradition fluorite is known as a stone of order and focus. Rainbow fluorite is said to bring mental clarity and help organise busy thoughts, and is a favourite among students.

Rainbow fluorite is often kept on a study desk, beside a computer, or in a pencil case at exam time. Its colourful bands also make it a cheerful gift.
Care
Soft and brittle, so it scratches and chips easily. Keep out of direct sunlight, which can fade the colours. Rinse briefly in water and store on its own.
