Meaning
What iceland spar is said to do
Where the name comes from
Named after Iceland, where clear calcite was mined at Helgustaðir in the east of the island. Look through a piece and every line behind it appears twice. Some historians think the “sunstone” of the Viking sagas, used to find the sun on cloudy days, may have been Iceland spar.
Its double image has made it a stone for clarity and seeing things from more than one side.
Traditionally said to help with

Both sidesIts double image makes it a stone for seeing more than one point of view.
