Lavender
Tiny dried lavender buds in soft grey-purple, with the clean, calming scent lavender is loved for.
About lavender
The name is thought to come from the Latin lavare, to wash: the Romans scented their baths and linen with it. In England, lavender was tucked between sheets and hung in homes for centuries to keep them fresh.
In folk tradition lavender is a herb of peace. It was put under pillows for restful sleep and used in love charms, and it is a favourite for cleansing a space and calming the mind.
In a potion
Use it in calm, sleep and love potions, or add a pinch to a peace jar on your bedside table. It pairs well with chamomile and moonstone.
Safety
For rituals and display only, not for eating or drinking. Keep away from children and pets, and store dry, out of direct sunlight.
Herb meanings describe folk tradition and belief, not medical advice.
